Biology help!! Dna ReplicatioN!?

1.Which of the following is true about DNA?

A. It is a single-stranded molecule.

B. Only one of the original DNA strands acts as a template during replication.

C. Both of the original DNA strands act as templates during replication.

D. Its replication takes place in the cytosol.

2.A zebra cell is just about to replicate its DNA. Which of the following will happen first?

A. The DNA unravels to make two strands.

B. RNA attaches to DNA.

C. All of the cell's DNA attaches to proteins.

D. The DNA folds over on itself to create a dense chromosome

3.During DNA replication in a human cell, 6 billion bases must be paired properly. Which characteristic of DNA best allows for high levels of accuracy during this process?

A. ion channels

B. base pairing according to certain rules

C. single-helix shape

D. presence of ribose in the backbone

Thanks Everyone. I am usually really good at science i just hate doing dna for some reason i dont get it so thanks for the help!!

Biology help!! Dna ReplicatioN!?
1. C

2. A - The DNA unravels first

3. B - Since Certain Nitrogenous bases can only connect with certain others. in this case C-G A-T.

Don't worry, you'll grow to love DNA. In fact, you'll even get your own copy.
Reply:For #1 I would say C.

For #2 I would say B.

For #3 I would say B again.

I hope this helps, I enjoy learning about DNA.

2: A is true

3: B is true
Reply:C -

the first guy is wrong. both strands act as templates.

because after DNA replication is finished you have two sets of DNA each with one parent strand and one daughter strand.

A

B

(don't worry, I couldn't stand learning about DNA and cell division either. The body is much more interesting- brain, nervous system, heart, lungs, etc)

2) A

3) i think it's B but im only 84% sure though

don't worry, im just like you

science is my best subject, but the DNA chpt was hard, got a 89 on one of the test on it =)
Reply:Haha I'm doin the same quiz as you on k12. I already submitted(100%). Answer is C.A.B.. Lol CAB as in catching a cab so you can do it the easy way and let other people do the work for you. Well have fun cheating with my cheat sheet.
Reply:Ok 1) c, DNA is double stranded, replicates in the nucleus and both strands are templates

2) c, Proteins need to attach to help unravel the DNA, RNA comes later and it doesn't fold over

3) b, because its a double helix not single, no ion channels involved and ribose doesnt help replication.
Reply:Yupz. C A B. I take molecular and cell biology in school. =)
